How Many Eids in Islam?
There are two major Eid events for Muslims that are warmly celebrated by Muslims all over the world:
- Eid al Fitar
- Eid al Adha
Like all religions in the world, Islam does provide a great chance to Muslims to celebrate good time and happiness together. Eid is the most important occasion for all Muslims. On this day they share the happiness, meet and greet each other.
It is not necessary that Eid day comes on the same day due to the moon position and calendar dates. All the Muslim events are celebrated according to the lunar month and the moon position in every region is different. Therefore, the celebrations of the events vary around the world with a little difference of maximum 24 hours.
In the Middle East and European countries, the lunar calendar is 24 hours forward in comparison to the lunar cycle in Asian countries. Sometimes it brings major confusion for the people and that is why, lunar committees observe the moon cycle in each region of the world. Lunar committees then announce the actual date and time dates for the events like Ramadan and Eid al Fitr.
