Although, there are lots of ways to get this snack ready, however we bring a simple one from Pakistani kitchens. It requires a few of basic ingredients that are usually available in the household.

Simple Chana Chaat with Potato and Tamarind Paste

Pakistani chana chaat (white chickpeas) for Ramadan Iftar, Eid and Evenings.

Ingredients

  • 350 grams white chickpeas boiled
  • 1 pcs onion (medium size) chopped
  • 1 pcs tomato (medium size) chopped
  • 1 pcs boiled potato (medium size) chopped
  • 1 tbsp salt or as per taste
  • 1 tbsp red pepper powder or as per taste
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 3 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1/2 bowl coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Boil chickpeas and potato separately.

  2. Once boiled, collect chickpeas in a large size bowl

  3. Add pieces of onion

  4. Add pieces of tomato

  5. Add salt

  6. Add red pepper

  7. Add potato pieces

  8. Add chaat masala

  9. Add tamarind paste

  10. Mix well with a spoon

  11. Once mixed, garnish with coriander leaves.

  12. For topping and additional spiciness, you can also sprinkle chopped green chilli

  13. Ready to serve. Enjoy
